Ladies’ over 60’s league Thursday 30 July
Port St Mary B were top scorers on Thursday 30 July as they dropped just 10 points against Mooragh Park, although their match ended all square on games as all six players had scores of 16 or better. Wendy Mc Dowell spared the blushes of Onchan B as her win denied Onchan A a full house. Villa Were denied a maximum by Kay Primrose Smith, although Breagle almost got another game as Hesba Skelly reached 19 against Brenda Williams, while it was Mary Moffatt who spoiled the party for Port St Mary A on their visit to Peel with her win to single figures Despite the match ending level on games at Port Erin, the home side winning all three to single figures gave them a strong advantage on points. Shirley Whelan’s win to single figures was the bright spot for Marown against Douglas A although Bunty Corkill’s 19 against Kath King and Margaret Scarffe’s 20 against Patsy Rush gave them a reasonable points total. Apart from the game between Marie Ashurst and Peggy Griffin, which went Marie’s way 21-18, the games between Castletown and Ballaugh were reasonably one-sided with a win to single figures for each side. Winning 4-2 on games also gave the home side the advantage on chalks.
