Jenny Moore Wins Manx Championship

Photo: Arnie WithersOn Saturday afternoon, the ladies Manx Championship was held at South Ramsey Bowling Club with an entry of 18.
Losing quarter-finalists were Kim Hargraves (South Ramsey) who lost 19-21 to Janet Monk (Mooragh Park), Hilary Kermode was beaten 10-21 by Tracy Moore, Hannah Drewett (Castletown) lost 5-21 to Lil Jenny Moore (South Ramsey) whilst Lil Smith (Marown) was beaten 11-21 by Margaret Tasker (Port St Mary).
In the semi-finals although Tracy and Margaret tried their best, both Janet and Jenny were on commanding form winning their games to 21-8 and 21-5 respectively.
In the final both ladies played exceptionally well, but despite Janet’s best effort, Jenny won 21-10.
Presentation of trophy and prizes was made by Mrs Ann Gale, sponsor of the ladies Manx championship, who congratulated Jenny on winning, all the lady bowlers for treating the spectators and supporters to some excellent bowling, to South Ramsey for the use of the green and providing the refreshments, and to Caroline Whitehead, Competition committee member for the smooth running of the competition.
