There are just two games left to play in Canada Life International League Division One following Marown A’s 8-2 home win over Peel A at Crosby on Wednesday night. Winning for the visitors were Stevie Kelly, who beat Glenn Boland 21-12, whilst Tommy McMeiken won 21-19 against John Gelling. For the home team Colin Kelly comfortably beat Dave ‘Barney’ Kelly 21-8, whilst Paul Dunn remained unbeaten with a 21-11 win over Gary Smith.

Port St Mary A are perilously close to the danger zone as they managed to beat Marown B 5-3 on games at Breagle Glen, however the Port men lost by three chalks (144-147) as the Crosby men managed to salvage a 5-5 draw to avoid defeat. Juan Hargraves filled in for Robbie Cooil as he held off Marown captain Juan Killip 21-20, whilst Paul Skelly beat Brian Kelly 21-19.

South Ramsey A hosted local rivals North Ramsey A with the visitors getting a better result away from home, than they did at Mooragh Park as the South men won 8-2. Winning for the visitors were Paul Allison who beat Jordan Cain 21-19, Allan Callow held off Stefan Kelly 21-15, whilst Rob Monk just lost out 17-21 to Bob Clark.

Castletown A picked up an important 7-3 home win over Douglas A at the crofts, which could have been better as Town captain Jordan Drewett just fell at the final hurdle 20-21 to Gordy Wynne-Smythe, with George Foy getting on the right side of 21-20 against Merv Sayle. The Town men took the aggregate by four chalks (140-136).

Onchan A comfortably beat Marown C 9-1 at the Park with visiting captain Stevie Rundle preventing the whitewash as he won 21-14 against Gary Conwell.

In Division Two league leaders South Ramsey B had a mini disaster away to low lying North Ramsey B as they lost 6-4. The visitors started strongly and won two games 21-8 in the first half of the match, however a stirring fightback from the home team saw the Mooragh men secure a win that helped lift them off the bottom of the table.

There is still everything to play for as Peel B won 7-3 at home to Finch Hill A, as the Peel men sit in second place on 99 points, just one point behind South Ramsey B, whilst Ballaugh A did themselves a huge favour as they beat Onchan B 8-2 at home to leapfrog their opponents into third place on 97 points with Onchan on 93 points.

Noble’s A dragged themselves further away from the danger zone with an 8-2 home win over Port Erin A, whilst Castletown B slipped to a damaging 8-2 defeat away to Douglas B. The Town men are three points adrift of 9th placed North Ramsey B, and eight points off 8th placed Noble’s A.

Division Three is set up very similar to Division Two with the top two in each division on the same number of points with Noble’s C on 100 points following their 7-3 home win over Peel C, whilst Noble’s D are just one point behind on 99 points following a solid 2-8 away win over Onchan C.

South Ramsey C aren’t completely out of it yet as they went into third place, thanks to a 7-3 home win over Noble’s B, as both teams sit on 93 points. Ballaugh B won 6-4 at home to South Ramsey D, with the home team taking the aggregate by five chalks (140-135), whilst Marown D won 7-3 at home to Port St Mary B, with just six chalks separating the two teams (136-130).

In Division Four runaway leaders Ballaugh C won 1-9 away to Douglas D, North Ramsey C beat Peel D 4-6 away from home, securing the win by six chalks (122-128), whilst Noble’s E picked up their sixth win of the season in their first year of bowls, with a 7-3 home win over Finch Hill B.

Ballaugh C would have to suffer an unlikely 0-10 defeat in their final game of the season, whilst North Ramsey C would need to secure two 10-0 wins to secure the title.
